The Story of Will Cook’s Quiz Co.

In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, actor and writer Will Cook found himself working behind the bar at a pub in Chelsea. Like many performers at the time, the traditional paths of stage and screen had come to a halt. But rather than sit still, Will saw an opportunity - he picked up a mic, brought in some trivia, and hosted his first quiz night.

It wasn’t long before people noticed these weren’t your average quizzes. They were live, playful, unpredictable. There was singing. There were Shakespeare monologues. There were speeches from films. What began as a necessity quickly became a passion - and from that, a business.

As word spread, Will became the resident quiz master at The Phoenix in Chelsea and began building something bigger: a quiz company that offered more than just questions and answers. Will Cook’s Quiz Co. was created to combine the best of live performance with the classic pub quiz format - turning ordinary weeknights into events people would remember.

The Mission
At the heart of Will Cook’s Quiz Co. is a mission to support two things: actors and unforgettable nights out. The company provides trained performers with well-paid, meaningful work - a rare opportunity in a competitive industry where flexible, creative jobs can be hard to come by. Every quiz is a chance for actors to stay sharp, stay on stage, and get paid properly for doing what they love.

For pubs and for other events, the experience is equally valuable. Each quiz night is a boost for business, drawing in new faces and turning regulars into loyal fans. It’s not just trivia — it’s a live show. From the first round to the final scores, guests are treated to a quiz that’s lively, engaging, and genuinely entertaining.

What We Ask From Venues

A Sound System

If your venue doesn’t already have one, we can recommend affordable options. It’s a one-time investment that pays off with a buzzing weekly crowd.

An Audio Interface and Microphone (if required)

If you already have a sound system, this is often all that’s needed to plug us in and get going.

Printing

We kindly ask that quiz sheets and materials are printed at the venue or at the office for corperate events. We'll send everything in advance in an easy-to-print format.

♻️ Printing & Sustainability

We ask that quiz sheets are printed by the venue each week — we’ll always send them in a clear, easy-to-print PDF format (usually no more than 2–3 pages per team, double-sided where possible).

To help keep things green, we encourage pubs and corperations to:

Use recycled printing paper where available
Print double-sided to reduce waste
Recycle all used quiz sheets at the end of the night

It’s a small ask that helps keep the quiz night smooth, cost-effective, and kinder to the planet. If printing at the venue isn’t possible, we can arrange to bring printed copies for a small additional fee.

Our pricing is tailored to the type of event - whether you’re booking a weekly pub quiz, a private party, or a corporate event. We take into account the location, size of the audience, and any custom elements you'd like to include.

Will Cooks Quiz Co is a quiz experience like no other!! It feels far more like a theatre performance than a regular quiz!
